To make a 16oz. milkshake using whole milk, whipping cream and fresh
fruit, how much of each ingredient would you use? I am making 5
different
16oz. milkshakes.

Hi
Renee,
Thanks for your letter.
Here in Australia we use metric, so it took me a while to translate
ounces into grams and millilitres, and then back into ounces!
Ok, for instance, for a 16 oz banana milkshake (which is about
2 American cups or 480ml) you will need 2 small ripe bananas or
1 large banana, 2 cups milk, 1-2 tablespoons sweetener (if you are
using) and 2-3 tablespoons cream. When you fill up the milkshake
glass you will have a little bit leftover for topping up. If you
wanted exactly 16 oz, then use about 1 1/3 cups milk, but I don't
like being stingy.
For the other varieties of milkshakes: When you cut up the bananas,
put them in a measuring cup and see how much space they take up
before you blend them up. Then repeat the other varieties of milkshakes
using that amount of fruit.
Ice cream is also nice in a milkshake. One scoop instead of the
cream.
