|I’m here in Melbourne and enjoying the lead up to tonight’s big celebrations of Sri Krishna Janmastami. It looks like we are expecting anything up to 10,000 guests.
I’ve taken a lot of photos and will share those with you when I get some time to go through them.
In the mean time here’s a very humble blog-in-waiting from my my last weekend’s class in Perth.
With a couple of last-minute ‘no shows’, our Saturday class was an intimate one. Our ‘Classics from the Subcontinent’ menu, comprising Hearty Split Mung Dal with Seasonal Vegetables, Classic Basmati Rice Pulao, Creamy Cauliflower and Potato Supreme (Gobi Alu Bhaji), Mashed Potato Puffs (Alu Vadas) Served with Rustic Mauritian Home-style Tomato Chutney, North Indian Puffed Fried Breads (Poories) and North Indian Carrot Halava went down a charm.
The sun is rising over Melbourne. There’s a chill in the air, but today’s weather forecast is ‘fine’. I’m heading off to one of the kitchens to help my old friend Radha Charan prepare 1000 gulab jamuns for Wednesday’s celebrations of the birthday of Srila Prabhupada.
