|It’s a gloriously hot day here in Belgium. Apparently they had a dismal winter and spring, with icy cold days all the way through April, so I guess they deserve some summer warmth.
I went for a walk this morning, to get some sun and absorb myself in the beauty of the place. I started to come to grips that I’m here in the Belgian countryside, with little lanes and buzzing bees, Linden trees in full fragrant bloom, and cows grazing in the warm lush fields.
Check out the map below. The Château de Petite Somme is near the city of Liège (right side of map) and pretty much in the town of Durbuy.
Today’s cookery class menu is as follows:
Classics from the Subcontinent
Bengali Royal Rice (Pushpanna)
Creamy Cauliflower and Potato Supreme (Gobi Alu Bhaji)
North Indian Puffed Fried Breads (Poories)
Crispy Battered Fresh Panir Cheese (Panir Pakoras)
Savoury Lentil Doughnuts (Vadai)
Sweet and Sour Date & Tamarind Chutney
Saffron Semolina Halava Pudding with Almonds & Cardamom
Anise-flavoured Doughnuts in Strawberry Yogurt (Malpoura)
Spiced Hot Apple Juice Drink
I’ll tell you all about it later, hopefully with some pictures.
