“Indian Shared Table” at de Studi

I’m still in Queensland’s sub-tropics. While Australia’s Southern States shiver, here it’s been a pleasant 26 degrees celcius everyday.

Mike and Adaline Rohan run the very successful de Studi Kitchen Appliance Studio in Townsville’s Charters Towers Road, specialising in high quality cooking equipment.

de Studi:

My hosts have set up a unique luxury kitchen at the back of their store, running regular classes for Townsville food lovers.

Adaline and Mike:

Last night we cooked the second instalment of a three-part culinary extravaganza. The Indian Shared Table included delightfully soft and flavoursome steamed semolina breads, the famous Rawa Idli.

Food enthusiast Lyn was ‘not backwards in coming forwards’, and did a great job of looking after our succulent Matar Panir.

Lyn cooks it up:

Adaline was quick to get into the swing of frying our spectacular puffed breads. Every Poori puffed to perfection.

Adaline cooks poories:

The crisp hot breads were a perfect partner for the meaty-textured chunks of panir smothered in zesty tomato and peas.

poories and matar panir:

Last instalment of the tropical trio tonight. Stay tuned.
