“Tell Me What You Eat…”

Spam for Breakfast

First, a disclaimer: this is totally unconnected to my previous quote from Monsieur Brillat-Savarin…

No, actually I received a whole lot of comments on some of my older blogs this morning and felt that it all was a bit suspicious. They were from people called Donny, Sany, Sonta and Werea. Strange names, I thought. And stranger still was that they were all sent from the same domain – http://www.mynicemailat.com/

So I went there, and had a laugh. Check it out…

The Global Vegetarian
I checked the news last night, and it turned out that yesterday’s inclement weather was actually two tornadoes that hit Australia’s West Coast. We didn’t bear the brunt of the storm here in Bayswater, but it was quite spectacular.

Anyway, to the task at hand. I’m sitting in my office at 4.16 am, doing some early morning (obviously) chanting of my favouite mantra – the Hare Krishna Mantra. As the sun starts to rise I’ll set up my kitchen for today’s class. There’s 8 people enrolled, and they’ll all be here by 11.00am.

We’ve got another groovy menu – very eclectic:

The Global Vegetarian Part II

Moroccan Bean & Vegetable Soup (Harira)

Pan-warmed Wheat Turnovers Stuffed with Cream Cheese and Semidried Tomatoes (Quesadillas)

Israeli Warm Salad of Roasted Pumpkin, Spinach and Yemeni Zhoug

Fried Mock Crab Cakes with Spicy Thai Peanut & Cucumber Relish

Moist and Savoury Vegetable-studded Semolina Pudding (Upma)

Tex-Mex Corn Salsa

Winter Fruit Compote with Fragrant Rose-scented Syrian Milk Pudding (Muhallabeya)

Can you taste it?
